We went to the park at St Pius today for the first time and saw your son's name. What a tribute to him and his life. My daughter turns 4 in 2 weeks.

June 19, 2011

Dear Andrew,
We are thinking of you today, as I'm sure Father's Day will be hard for you. It doesn't help that Tuesday is just a couple of days away. Please know how often we talk about John. We think of him & you ALOT. The bench plaque looks great. Hope you've seen it.
I don't have the right words to express my feelings for you today (or for Tuesday for that matter)... but please feel our love in your own quiet way.
We will be saying a special prayer Tuesday in John's honor. MJ wouldn't have it any other way.
Warmest Regards,
Laura Fontana

Dear Andrew & Carey,
I just found out that your son John has gone to heaven. I can't imagine your grief as parents, and I know I don't have the right words, but my heart goes out to you. Know that your family is in our hearts and prayers. Stay close to God and his word and you'll be close to little John. Find peace knowing that you'll see his smiling face once again in heaven someday, for that's God's promise to us as His children. Just as he would run to you chanting, "Mommy & Daddy!" after a long day of not seeing you, know that's what's waiting for you when you go home to heaven. God bless your family.
Love Always,
Erik, Lissette, and Aiden Dixon

I pray for God's comfort and strength to be yours during this time and the times to come.

June 25, 2010

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Although it may not seem like time will ease your pain right now, please trust that our Lord will give you enough Grace for each day, enough comfort for each day, and strength. Every day will have it's moments of normalcy, amongst the grief. God will help you, in time, to have more of those moments of normalcy as time goes on. We don't understand why children are taken too soon, but we can find some comfort in knowing that God has a plan for each of us, and when we do go home to eternity, it is like a place no other. He is among the Angels and is being held. Stay close to the Lord, and HE will see you through this. (side note: an awesome book to read is called, A Grace Disguised) highly recommend it. My prayers are with you.

Sincerely,
Kelly Melarkey

This news truly breaks my heart as a father and a friend. I can’t even imagine the sadness this must bring to you and your family. It has been a blessing getting to know John and your family over the past year. Meg loved playing with John at the park after school, almost as much as I enjoyed talking with you Andrew. Dear John and Carey,
My deepest sympathies on the loss of John, I know your hearts are broken. John touched this world in such a loving way that God must have needed a sweet, innocent angel with a little bit of spunk to help him up in heaven. I feel blessed to have had John be part of my life this past school year, and he will hold a special place in my heart.
With sympathy and support,
