Velasquez, Joe J. "Pepe" age 57, beloved husband of Ofelia Velasquez for 35 years, loving father of Edith (Jaime), Cristina (Anthony), Yajaira (Eduardo), Michelle, and Veronica (future son-in-law Rick), cherished grandfather of Edward, Damaris, Julianna, and Priscilla. Joe was a humble servant of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and always placed the needs of others before his own. Visitation Wednesday, November 3rd, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Bethel Pentecostal Church, 2726 Broadway, Blue Island, IL. Funeral Service November 4th, at 10:00 a.m., at Bethel Pentecostal Church followed by burial at Beverly Cemetery, 12000 S. Kedzie, Blue Island, IL. Condolences can be sent to 2117 Broadway, Blue Island, IL 60406.

My deepest sympathy to "Pepe" family. I was shocked to hear this news. I remember him when he was a little kid and I baby sat for him and his sisters and we also attended the same church. The lovely memories well always remain with me. His parents and my mom and dad were very good friends besides being family members When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Which I will always remember them. You will be in my prayers and thoughts. I know that i speak for the family members of Porfirio & Mary Contreras we all send our deepest sympathy to "Pepe" family. What an awesome cousin, I only knew him when I was young, but recently I bumped into him and "Tommy Boy" as my dad would call him and he remember me. He was truely an awesome man. God Bless

I've never known such a loving, caring, generous man. And his sense of humor was a gift from God. He always knew how to make you smile and laugh. To all his daughters...he was the BEST Father any daughter could ask for. You were all Blessed to have him as your Daddy and He will always live in our hearts. Be strong in the Lord and remember the legacy...God first and Family second. Be there for each other. Love your Tia Lola
