Smith, Joanne (nee McNamara), 80, long time resident of Glenview, passed away August 19, 2011. Beloved wife of Malvin Smith; loving mother of Beth (Cary) Friend, Sheila (Richard) Smith Cornett, Matthew Smith, Kristyn Smith and the late Donna LeClair; cherished grandmother of Stacey Friend (fiance Kevin Campbell) and Samantha Friend; dear sister of Richard (late Louise) McNamara, Jane McNamara, John (Delores) McNamara, Jerome (Joan) McNamara and was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters; fond aunt of many. Mrs. Smith was a longtime active member and Eucharistic minister at St. Catherine Laboure Church. Visitation Sunday 2 to 6pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (just south of Lake Ave. on west side). Funeral mass Monday 10am at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 3535 Thornwood, Glenview.
