Smith, Joanne (nee McNamara), 80, long time resident of Glenview, passed away August 19, 2011. Beloved wife of Malvin Smith; loving mother of Beth (Cary) Friend, Sheila (Richard) Smith Cornett, Matthew Smith, Kristyn Smith and the late Donna LeClair; cherished grandmother of Stacey Friend (fiance Kevin Campbell) and Samantha Friend; dear sister of Richard (late Louise) McNamara, Jane McNamara, John (Delores) McNamara, Jerome (Joan) McNamara and was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters; fond aunt of many. Mrs. Smith was a longtime active member and Eucharistic minister at St. Catherine Laboure Church. Visitation Sunday 2 to 6pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (just south of Lake Ave. on west side). Funeral mass Monday 10am at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 3535 Thornwood, Glenview. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631. Funeral information 847-998-1020.
