Joan Zak Obituary

Zak, Joan M. (nee McAndrew), 74, of Willowbrook, IL, died at home Wednesday, November 28th, after a long illness. She was the loving wife and best friend of George for 48 years, the devoted mother of David (Darlene), Michael, Suzanne (Dr. John) Martens and Richard (Allyson), the proud grandmother of Jessica, Samuel, Jack and Brian and the fond sister of Sr. Marie Christine McAndrew O.P., Bertrand (Mary Jane) and Alfred (Dolores). She was a devout Christian who was kind and generous to all. She loved to laugh, she enjoyed good music and her flower garden, and she treasured her family and all her many friends. Visitation on Friday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Funeral on Saturday, from Modell Funeral Home, at 10:45 a.m., to Our Lady of Peace Church, 701 Plainfield Rd., Darien for a Funeral Mass at 11:15 a.m. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
