Joan M. Schmeltzer, age 88, at rest March 11, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Schmeltzer; Loving sister of the late David (Miki) Schmeltzer, the late Margaret Merigold, the late Fred (late Jomayla) Schmeltzer and the late Gerry (late Arthur) Kennedy; Aunt and great aunt to so many; Joan entered the convent at the age of 17 and was a devoted catholic her entire life; In her later years her interest was in karate and earned a brown belt; She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing slot machines which gave her a new social outlet;
Visitation Friday, March 21, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th Street, Chicago Ridge to St. Linus Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn, Mass 11:00 a.m.; Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery;
