Joan Kitt Obituary

Kitt, Joan R. (nee Porter), of Chicago, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Christ Hospital & Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992. She was Postmaster ten years before her retirement at Hazelcrest, Illinois Post Office South Suburban. She is survived by her sister Carrie Porter of Chicago, Illinois and Catherine Williams of Flint, Michigan, two granddaughters, four nieces, two nephews, one daughter-in-law, five great nieces and five great nephews. Arrangements entrusted to Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 South Jeffery Blvd. Friends may view on Wednesday from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004. Interment will be at Oak Woods in Chicago, IL. 773-721-8900.
