I worked with Jo Anne years ago and we unfortunately lost touch. My sympathy to all of her family. Joanne was truly a caring giving soul who always thought of others first. We had many fun lunches together. Rest in peace JoAnne! You will be missed.

I had the good fortune to know Jo-Anne more many years. She and Donald Anderson were planning to be married when he became ill. He spent many days in Columbus Hospital and Jo-Anne visited and was involved in his care. I was a nurse practitioner and watched her rock solid support of Donald.
Over the following years, we became friends and saw each other periodically. She sent my husband and me beautiful hand made cards that I have kept and cherish. I have a tiny painting by her in my home.
I hope that I will be able to attend her memorial mass when it occurs.

Well Jo Ann, our many talks, lunches and writing IEPs at Dyett High School are truly memorable. You probably didn't know it; you made a difference with Dyett's SpEds. Many of the ones who got under your skin, did so because you paid attention to them. The few days you weren't at Dyett, our SpEds ran around the school looking for you. "Where's Ms. Cairo? :) Your journey here on earth is done. Well done my friend. See you when I see you. Carolyn Carroll

We will miss Jo-Anne's sense of humor, and she'd often bring us treats from D'Amato's Bakery. So thoughtful. Our heartfelt condolences.
