Jerome Rowland Obituary

Rowland, Jerome D. 88, of Glenview, formerly of Seattle, WA, passed away August 14th, 2001, beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Wooley), loving father of Michaela Rowland, Theresa Johnson and Raleigh (Karen) Rowland, dearest grandfather of Angela, Nicholas and Juliet Rowland. Former editor for several Chicago area newspapers including picture editor of the Chicago Today. He recently completed his autobiography. Visitation Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m., at Scott-North Shore Chapels, 1104 Waukegan Rd., Glenview, where services will be held Friday, August 17th, at 11 a.m. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. 5040 N. Pulaski, Chicago, IL, 60630. Info., 847-832-9600.

What a kind man Jerry was. I am thankful to him and so many of the other great veteran journalists on the old American and Today for the many lessons they gave me. Jerry was one of the best.
