Dear, Mrs Ellen Cocoran Kowalski, Kelly, Dina, Tracy, Missy, & young Jerome, I remember your family since young Jerome was a baby. I remember your father was one of the most generous, very strict, real not phoney, loving, & protective father. He was a serious & very wise man too. I learned a tremendous amount about life from Mr. Jerome F. Kowalski. I am deeply grateful & honored to have spent so much time with him. He always made me feel like a member of your wonderful family. Always. It makes me cry to think he passed away & had to leave all his children gifts & grandchildren gifts & immediate family members. Love, Kristin Anne Ringewald

Mr. Kowalski,
You grew up with my father and his brothers. You had some my cousins as well as myself in class. You were teaching methods were second to none. Throwing out a bad of gym equipment, telling us to pick teams, and ending your instructions with the mandatory statement; "There better not be any issues either, or there will be issues with me." So we picked teams, participated in our activities, and all the while Mr. Raschine and you would enjoy a cup of coffee in your office. It was never hard to pass your class if we respected you. We all respected you, because you respected us. During our early grammar school days, the school school would close due to race riots at the high school. I believe it was my generation that broke that cycle of racial fighting. The reason why? We had great examples of teachers who didn't see color, like you. A teacher that knew how to relate to all of us, because you grew up in the area where you where you taught. You had the company in the family, and you lived in the area. Along with Mr. Cronin, Mrs. Klein, Miss. Krayson, Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Kolacki, Mr. Collavecchi, Mrs. Pohlman, Miss. Beck, and Mrs Oak, you left with memorable impressions of my grammar school days that helped develop my adult days. You were definitely a very good man Mr. Kowalski. Thank you for being my teacher.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Kowalski as my P.E. teacher at Graves Junior High in 77-79. He was loved and respected by many and will be missed by all who knew him. God bless the loved ones he left behind. - Brian Baugh

Dear Elle, Kelly, Tracy, Dina and Jerry, My heart aches for all of you and this great loss!
Your father and the whole Kowalski family are a huge part of my childhood. Very few memories do not include you. Every time I visit my parents I share my thoughts of you with my daughter. The many stories flow as we gaze at your Bedford Park home, the park, the school, Community Building, grandmas house and our life that was. It always feels like it was just yesterday. We had it all because of our parents. We were the lucky ones. I sure missed you when you moved.
As an awkward Graves Jr. High student your Dad made me feel a "super star". The "great man" knew me and treated me as one!! He helped ease my way. For that alone I am eternally grateful.
He is leaving behind a wonderful family but his presence will never be left behind. He will forever live in our stories and hearts. Rest now for you and your family will always be in my memories and prayers and your spirit lives on.Thank you,Trudi Erklin-SavasBoston MA
