Jerilyn Landsbaum Obituary

Landsbaum, Jerilyn Elizabeth (nee Lipe), wife of Scott Landsbaum and mother of Katie of St. Louis, MO, died December 19, 2004, at St. John Mercy Medical Center, in Creve Coeur, MO, she was 35. Mrs. Landsbaum was born in St. Louis, on July 22, 1969. In 1987, she received her high school diploma from Homewood Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor, IL., where she was a member of Viking Choir, contest plays, student council and the debate team. she attended the University of Illinois at Champaign where she was an Illinois Scholar active in political campus activities. A member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Political science. In 1995, she received her J.D. Degree from Washington University Law School, where she had also been active in political campus activities and a Law Review editor. She practiced Trial and Appellate Law in both Illinois and Missouri. She married Scott G. Landsbaum in 1998 and they had a daughter Katheryn Elizabeth Louise. In addition to her husband and daughter of St. Louis, she is survived by her mother and stepfather, Billie (nee Black) and Henry Hauser of Homewood, IL; her father and stepmother, Jerry and Anne (nee Cobb) Lipe of Winfield, IL; two sisters, Kimberly K. Lipe of St. Charles, IL and Candice Oberlies (Ted) of Chicago; three stepbrothers, Thomas Hauser (Bela Bashar) of Boston, MA, Tony Hauser (Lisa) of Boise, ID and Matthew Hauser of Chicago; she is also survived by Scott's parents, Louis and Sandra (nee Loebner) Landsbaum; his brothers, Derek Landsbaum and Steve (Phyllis, nee Swanson) Shanker and sister, Michelle Shanker; she also leaves behind nieces, Jane Oberlies, Sofia Hauser and Andrea Shanker; nephews, Colin and Mason Hauser, Teddy Oberlies and Paul Shanker; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held December 30, 2004, at 6 p.m. at the Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchinson Road, Flossmoor, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
