Jeanne Veillard Obituary

Jeanne Hermina Petit-Choute Antoine Veillard earned her angels wings and went to be with her Lord on Monday November 12, 2018. She was born on May 1,1910 in Abacour, Haiti. She was the eldest child of Valcy Antoine and Idamente Petit-Choute Casimir.

There are no possible words that can describe the woman we are honoring. Known too many as Mom, Grandma, Madame, Manman DiDi, or Madame Duranord she was a lifeline to many who knew her. To have had her in your life, or just simply to have met her was a blessing. No one will ever have a more giving heart than she. She spent countless hours telling stories to her grandchildren of years past. Having had her in our lives has definitely made each and every one of us a better person. She was an independent WOMAN till the very end. She was a seamstress by trade, but she was able to do anything she put her mind to. Her life's mission was always to help those less fortunate than her. She was a seamstress by trade, but most of her earnings efforts were given away. Through our grief and sorrow, we must remember to celebrate her for she led a beautiful life, rich with love here among us. With the love she has given us we will continue to honor her by sharing our memories with her and give thanks for the time we had together. I'm sure each of you feels the ache of loneliness caused by her passing. But rejoice knowing that she touched you; that she was a part of your life, and her influence will survive in the unending consequences flowing from her character and deeds. It may have been her goodness, her wisdom, and her energy. It may have been her devotion to family, her helping hand, and her courage. Or it may have been her loving smile and understanding. Remembering these little things and let them endure own acts and thoughts.

She married Duranord Veillard on November 29, 1934 and bore seven children. She is preceded in death by her husband Duranord, her sons Franck and Willie, daughters Alda and Yverte, William her step-son, her two sisters Italia Antoine and Ilia Antoine, and three brothers Jephette Antoine, Andre Antoine and Montaniel Antoine.

She is survived by sister Teralia Antoine and brother Manis Antoine, daughters Hilda Chatelain (Jean-Claude) and Yolande Eveillard (Andre), son Vely Veillard (Regine), and step-son Francko. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lise, Carline, Stanley, Edward, Myrlande, Eric, Errold, Joanne, Yves, Pierette, Edwin, Mitzie and Nismo.

She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Raymond, Robert, Pearlene, Claudio, Jaydon, Amaya, Myrlande, Darius, Phoenix, Mahogany, Taylor, Elijah, Liana, and Adrianna, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday November 18, 2018 from 5 to 9pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. A mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St Joseph's Church, 245 N Main Street, Spring Valley, followed by entombment at St Anthony's Cemetery.
