On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, Jeanne Ann Tapley passed away at the age of 87. Jeanne was born on May 4, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois and was one of eight children. She married James Thomas Tapley, Jr. in 1956; while he served in the Navy in Korea and Vietnam, Jeanne raised their four children: Ruth Irene (Tapley) Preston, Judith Rose (Tapley) Paulin, James Joseph Tapley and Katharine Ann (Tapley) Christensen.
Jeanne loved volunteering and helping others and gave to numerous charities. She was a very active and devoted member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala, Florida, and over the past 30 years ministered to the sick in Marion County. When home, she loved gardening and was passionate about tending to her roses. She also loved animals and adopted many pets throughout her life, giving them shelter and a warm and loving home.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband James and is survived by her four children, her six grandchildren: Jacob, Jaclyn, Zachary, Ethan, William and Connor, and four great-grandchildren: Kadence, Mason, Emmaline and Ayyria.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Roberts Funeral Home East Chapel, 2739 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, Florida, with the calling hours of four and seven o'clock pm. A Catholic Mass was held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at eight-thirty am.
