Jean Kapuscik Obituary

Kapuscik, Jean Gunning age 73, passed away February 24, 2005 at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park, IL. Born in New York, she moved to LaGrange in 1963. She worked in the Chicago Public Schools, teaching incarcerated youths at Audie Home for 25 years. Jean served on the board of the Community Family Service & Mental Health Assoc. and was a member of the League of Women Voters. A longtime member of the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale she chaired the Unitarian Universalist Association's Central Midwest District and was elected to the national board in 1991. She served on the UUA Board of Trustees and Ministerial Fellowship Committee. In 2002 she was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, but lived independently until she entered nursing care in Sept. 2004. Jean is survived by three daughters, two brothers, and their families. A memorial service will be held March 12 at 11 a.m., at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale, 17 W. Maple Street, Hinsdale, IL.
