Thelma Havard Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — Thelma C. Havard, 88, who was known by her family and friends as "Jackie," formerly of Houston and St. Louis, died peacefully Saturday, April 21, 2007. She had moved to Traverse City in 2001, and was a current resident of the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Dear mother and friend, Jackie was born Thelma Christine Tillie Vaughn on June 13, 1918. She entered into marriage with the late Ben Liberman, with whom she had three children, and again later in life with the late G. Leon Havard.

Jackie attended the Traverse City Church of Christ and was a lifetime member of Venus Chapter No. 153 Order of the Eastern Star, St. Louis, Mo.

She enjoyed fishing, shopping and visiting Las Vegas when she was able.

Jackie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Grant Carrithers of Traverse City, as well as several other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters and brother; an infant daughter, Janet Christine Liberman; and son, Phillip Earl Liberman.

Memorial services will be held in May.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation, 1000 Pavilions Circle Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684.
