LCPL Jason D. Hill, you protected 3/4 with your own life. You brought Company K safely home four months after your death. You were not there to step off the buses at Twentynine on 10/21/2011, not as the rest of the company did, but you were there. We felt your presence. You touched more people in your twenty years than most do in ninety. You will forever be on patrol with Darkside.

As his Mother, I was most blessed to carry him and watch him grow into the man that when it was time, did what was necessary to protect his own. I am so very proud of him, thankful he didn't suffer or return with missing pieces, but bolted into Heaven a HERO. Jason came into this world hollering, and left this world hollering ~ I can't wait for his embrace on the other side.

My condolences go to the family of Lcpl Hills Family. I was in his Platoon and graduated with him in bootcamp. He always worked so hard, and never hesitated to help others in need. His death may bring heartache but know that he inspired and brought life into everyone he met. He was a good Marine, and it was gods will to bring him to heaven early. God Bless

To the family of LCpl Jason Hill. No words can help you through this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My brother, Peter, served with Aaron. He was killed in action a couple weeks before Jason died. Unfortunately, I know what you are going throuh. I can't say it gets better because it doesn't. Some days are easier than others. Some days are really tough. Hold on to the memories... to the smiles and the good times. God bless. Proud sister of a US Marine.

I lost my brother in Afghanistan in 2008. We are also from Poway and once again another death hits home. I am friends with the mother of Shane who knew and loved your son as his friend. I am so sad for all of you for your loss. It brings back all the hurt I felt in 2008 that I still have to this day all over again. I want you to know I also feel your pain and no words can ever make the pain go away. It sounds like Jason was loved by a great family and the best of friends. He will not be forgotten. He is a true hero!

To the Family of LCpl. Jason Hill
I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Marine standing guard. Amen.

Dear Hill Family,
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

Dear Hill Family,
My son, Robert B., had the honor of serving with Lance Corporal Hill in Afghanistan. He was so very sorry for the tragic loss of his friend, who he said was so well-liked and one of the best guys in the unit. Your son exemplified the finest of our Marines, a true patriot, and gave his life to protect our way of life. I cannot adequately express my appreciation for your family's heroic sacrifice. Please know that I will never forget Lance Corporal Hill and his bravery, and his Marines will never forget him.
He will forever be in my prayers and thoughts as he patrols the gates of Heaven.
In Deepest Sympathy,
Sarah Melody
