Jannes K. "Jan" Diamond, longtime resident of Evanston, IL, died peacefully on February 10. She was born January 12, 1943 in Iowa. The family moved to Elmhurst IL in 1948 where Jan graduated from Immaculate Conception schools, then attended college at St Teresa's in Minnesota and Loyola University in Chicago. Jan was the cherished daughter of the late Kay, nee Dobbin and Bill Diamond; best friend of the late Ken Bailey; loving sister of Judith (Jim) McFarlane Sr. and Jean (Tom) Martin; adored aunt of Jim (Libby Grant) McFarlane Jr, Maureen (Franz Schauer, Jr) McFarlane, Michael (Nancy) McFarlane, Patrick (Catalina Vasquez) McFarlane, Joseph Martin, Michelle (Tony Rodriguez) Martin and Liz (Dinuk Abeysekera) Martin; fond great-aunt of Cassidy and Riley McFarlane, Hannah and Franz Schauer III, Jack, Kellagh, Liam, Shamus and Murphy McFarlane, Caroline, Frank and Tess Rodriguez, Skylar, Bill, Zoe, Meghan and Henry Handler. Jan spent her career in the advertising industry and retired as a Senior Vice President, Director of Creative Services with DDB Needham Worldwide in 2005. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet Monday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Elmhurst.
