I was stunned to read of Janice's death in the I.U. Alumni magazine. I had not been in touch with her for 35 years or so but have great memories of our times together as college students. She was my roomate at the boarding house on Hunter St. and then in an apartment our last semester. We laughed and laughed together...then and when I visited her in Chicago. RIP Janice and my sincere condolences to her family and other friends.

To Janice's family, especially her mom and dad please accept my condolences. Janice and I became fast friends after discussing music at one of her garage sales. We both loved records and she knew everything about so many great musicians. She told me stories of her days at Chess records and shared pictures and records with me that I will never forget. I, in turn, shared with her my love for the Blessed Mother and the Rosary in which she found comfort and hope. We last spoke around the holidays and made plans to get together in late February or early March. I had a terrible feeling when I called her to find that the number was disconnected and then to come across her obituary. I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a beautiful and caring person and even though we knew each other for a short time she was someone that I truly loved and I am so proud to have had her as a friend. Janice, I will never forget you. Until we meet again my dear friend, rest in peace.
