Heifetz, Janet (nee Ruben) Age 70. Beloved wife for 21 years of the wonderful Harry Heifetz; daughter of the late Sol and Harriet Ruben; sister of Al Ruben and Elaine Johannesen; sister-in-law of Isaac and Michele Heifetz, Melanie Heifetz and Ann Censotti; daughter-in-law of the late Lillian Joseph; aunt of Rebecca Gahan, Joshua Ruben, Hillary Lev, Laena Jennifer Heifetz and great-niece Ava McRae; beloved adopted aunt of Dov Kawamoto, Sam Keller, Matthew Landan, Nicole Cohen, Samantha Brie Lustig and Michelle Walby and their numerous children. Also known as Janet Frydman (1969-1976). Worked as a Social Studies teacher at Farragut High School (1968-1981). She changed careers to be an Information Technology professional: first at Sears, then worked for 25 years at Navistar Financial Corporation. An active part of the Dearborn Park Townhomes Association, Congregation Rodfei Zedek and Sisterhood. Funeral service Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Congregation Rodfei Zedek, 5200 S Hyde Park Blvd, Chicago, IL 60615. 1:30 p.m. Interment at Waldheim Cemetery, 18th and Harlem Ave., North Riverside.
