P.S. I am watching an old Sophia Loren movie. Your daughter Alethea grew up to be as beautiful as Sophia Loren.

My Dearest Janet,

Friends for so many years, I've always loved you. I'm sorry that we didn't get to say good-bye on earth. I will do the best I can to carry on the memory of your beauty. Peace and love. I know that if there is a God you are certainly with God. You will remain in my heart until the day we meet again and you can do my hair. Love,

Susie

I was a year ahead of Janet in high school in Grafton. It was evident even then that she was an extraordinary person who could raise the spirits of the most desolate soul. I am sorry that she could not stay longer on earth to spread her zest for life. My sympathies to her family and all the others who loved her.

Janet, I'm going to miss you more than you will ever know. I talked to you last week and we both were laughing and crying. Thank you for all you taught me as hairdresser to hairdresser. I remember when we would be sitting in your salon with the sign out front , me trying to get clients in..and you laughing at me. You taught me so much. I loved watching you (The Master) of hairpieces and wigs. You would comb..then you would stop and think..your ideas flowing..then you would start..and a beautiful style would emerge. I was in awe of your talent and your experience. We had so many talks about your daughter, whom you loved so much. Besides us talking about hair..she was our conversation topic. You were so kind to me. I only rented a chair for a short time but what you taught me I will remember a lifetime. I will miss you so much Janet....

Janet was a very special person. Whenever I saw her, she was very kind to me and my family. She always considered others first. I sent this little essay to Janet in a special card about a month ago:

Cancer is limited. It cannot cripple love. It cannot shatter hope. It cannot corrode faith. It cannot eat away peace. It cannot destroy confidence. It cannot kill friendship. It cannot shut out memories. It cannot silence courage. It cannot invade the soul. It cannot reduce eternal life.(praise God)It cannot quench the Spirit. It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection. Author Unknown. Another beautiful person has been added to the family in heaven. There, Janet is healed and dancing and free of further illness. She is very truly happy indeed. She is safe at last in her heavenly father's arms. Hallelujah! But dear heavenly father, please comfort the ones she leaves behind. Wipe away their tears and assure them of your love and peace. Janet will surely be missed by all.

Janet was my friend. She cut my hair for 25 years. She was kind, funny generous and irreverent. She was always there in good times and bad. I will miss this dear woman.

Our sincerest condolences to Alethia, Janet's daughter, and her family. Janet was very warm and gracious to our son Mitch, Alethia's friend of many years. She welcomed and fed him and other "kids" in her home more than we will know.

My sincere condolences to Rick and family. I met Janet only once and yet was touched by her and I know how very special she was to you.

It has been years since we saw each other and yet I wanted to express my heartfelt concern. God bless

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Janet. I was lucky enough to meet Janet through Jennifer Monahan (who has known Janet for many years and cherished her friendship). Janet had a way of making you feel very special and that is exactly what she was - a very, very special person and she will be missed, but her memories will last forever.
