Jan, like her brother and sisters and mother and father was a sweet and wonderful christian person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

February 8, 2005



One year ago today, we lost a very precious friend. Her lovely spirit is not forgotten.



Our time spent with Jan and the memories she left with us, remain today in our thoughts and in our hearts.

He Only Takes the Best



God saw you were getting tired,

And a cure was not to be.

So he put his loving arms around you,

And whispered, "Come to me."



With tearful eyes we watched you,

And saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.



A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts

to prove to us,

Jan was one of the best. A great teacher and wonderful person.

Dear Kay and Vicky (and the rest of Jan's family) I just wanted you to know that I've thought of all of you several times over the last month plus. With Daddy's death five years ago and Mother's death this past week, we have now experienced "sudden death" and "lingering death". It's not really easy either way. As you know time, memories, friends and especially our faith sustain us. Just wanted to join those in letting you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Kathy

My deepest sympathy to all the family of Jan Robinson. This has been a great loss for a lot of people in Starkville,at the school,at First Pres.,to my childern and my self. Jan touched our lives in many more ways than I could begin to say. Everday I have more and more wonderful memories of things about Jan. I just wanted to say that I still cherish everyone. I thank Jan for all she did for both my childern, Sean and Rosemary. I thank her for her friendship she gave me. I will miss her greatly. I hated that I could not be there for her family a their time of loss.

Jan was my daughter, Lauren's, kindergarten teacher at SA. She had such a kind and gentle spirit that made a lasting impression on me as well as Lauren. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find peace and comfort from God during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Jan's death. Jeannine and I have many good memories of her and all your family. My parents, Beverly and Irl, are well settled and happy in Pensacola now but still miss Starkville and their many good friends there.



We are thinking of you and we love you.

I've known Jan since we were in elementary school.She was such a beautiful,gentle, loving person. I don't think she ever raised her voice in anger or said an unkind word about anyone.She was the perfect person to give my daughter a great start in school.I'm so very sorry about her passing.

Mr. Bill my prayers are with you and your family. I was in Mrs. Robinson's 1st kindergarten class at the Academy. She was the most kind and loving person I know. I only hope I can be half the person she was. The world is a better place because of her.

A kindergarten teacher can mean the world to a child, and to that child's parents. We were blessed to have two wonderful kindergarten experiences at SA -- One of those was with Jan Robinson. She adored my child, and even two weeks ago -- four years after having him in her class -- she could not pass him without hugging him tight. Someone once said, "How lucky I am to have known someone that to say goodbye is so [darned] awful." I think about Jan with that phrase, and have used it to help my son ease his loss. Losing Jan is awful, and she will not be forgotten.

Many times the path that we choose to walk leads us to people we sometimes remember throughout our lifetime as being "acquaintances," and, oftentimes, along the way, we make friendships with unique people. Jan was one of the unique people in our lives. Her loving spirit and cheerfulness made her a joy to be around.



In our eighteen years of living in Starkville, we became friends with Bill and then Jan. Our time spent together, the laughter of funny moments, and the sharing of our lives united our friendship which continues today.



We are so appreciative to have known such a wonderful lady, and our sadness in the sudden loss of Jan is overwhelming. However, our only solace is that we know she now walks among Angels. She will forever be in our thoughts, our hearts, and in our memories.



May God surround each of you with His loving grace and comfort you during your loss.

I didn't know Jan but I am a old friend of Suzy's. I just wanted Suzy and the family to know how sorry I was to hear about Jan. I think so often that the only comfort we can find in loosing our loved ones is in the secure and safe assurance that they are in a much better place.
