James Zakrzewski Obituary

Zakrzewski, James Anthony

James Zakrzewski, 88, passed away March 12, 2024, in Chicago, Il. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Genevieve (nee Knoll) and were blessed with a daughter, Cynthia Louise. After 35 loving years of marriage, Betty suddenly passed away. Later, he married Alice Odeh, who, along with children she had with her late husband, Emil: Shereen (Aaron) Combs Aguilar, Sam (Kris) Odeh, and Ranya (Doug) Dietzen, became part of Jim's life. His passions were his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his friends, fishing, and watching basketball and football. American Airlines recognized him for his 42 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his loving brother, Francis, and sister, Rita; cherished father to his daughter Cynthia (Michael) Teolis; dear grandfather to Giovanna (Joseph) Anayas and Adrianna (Eli) Estrada; and great-grandfather to Isla, Shay, and Eve; and uncle and cousin to many.

Visitation: March 25, 2025, 4-8pm at Grein Funeral Home, 2114 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, Illinois. Funeral mass, March 26, 2024, at 10.00am at St. Benedict Church, 2215 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, Illinois. Entombment at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois.
