Anthony Borysiewicz Obituary

Anthony F. Borysiewicz, Commander, U.S. Navy (Ret) died Oct. 5, 2014 in San Diego, Calif., from complications of pneumonia. He was born June 11, 1920 in Coatesville.
Tony was a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and a naval aviator. He flew off numerous carriers, including the USS Princeton during the Korean War, and was awarded campaign and service medals, including the Air Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Tony's second career was as a science teacher in the Norfolk (Va.) school system, which he enjoyed immensely.
He was an active parishioner at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church, an avid golfer from a very young age, and he traveled extensively throughout the United States (to all 50) and the world with his beloved wife of 38 years, Clela.
Tony was predeceased by his first wife, Bette, and his daughter, Catharine Stiney. He is survived by his wife, Clela Borysiewicz; his daughters, Susan Horner of Wayne, and Elizabeth Esparolini of Alpharetta, Ga.; his sons, Eric Borysiewicz of Fairfax Station, Va. and Raymond Lee of San Diego, Calif.; as well as by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held (date pending) at the Fort Myers Chapel, Arlington, Va. Following the Mass will be interment with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
