James B. Watson, age 91, born on July 13, 1933 passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family in his final days. James was the loving husband of Barbara (nee Podejma) sharing an enduring love and commitment to each other in their 60 years of marriage; beloved father of James M. (Tammy), John (Katherine) and Janet (Todd); cherished grandfather of James A. (Mallary), Bradley (Jen), Kendall (Justin), Nicholas (fiancé Jenna), Thomas (Anna), Anna, Jacqueline, Sidney, Avery and Ashton; adored great grandfather of Brooklyn, James D., Wesley, Rylee and Weston; loving brother of Dorothy and the late June, Robert and Lorraine "Laurie", and dear uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. James was known for his courage, hard work, kindness, and his unwavering love and commitment to his family. James' other passions included his involvement in the community and his neighborhood, gardening, history, sports, and a life-long love for the Chicago Cubs. James put his family first always making time for his children and grandchildren in all things. He loved being a constant and active presence in their lives, attending all special events, and especially enjoyed being "The Superfan" for his grandchildren's sports and activities. James will be forever missed and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to be in our hearts and forever inspire us. Memorial services to celebrate James' life will be held on May 31, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Prayer service at 12 noon at Lawn Funeral Home, 17909 S. 94th Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois, 60487.
