Dear Aida and Family
Our deepest sympathies to you and the family on the loss of Jimmy. He and Daniel are together again on the other side. Jimmy was one of Dan's earliest recruits as a field training officer in 19th district. He will be greatly missed.

I really hate to hear about James Melvin. I remember him as a very nice polite quiet young man who did not have much to say but when he did say something you knew it was fact. He was the most intelligent person in our graduating class and I was honored to know him. SUSAN (DAUGHERTY) MURPHY

Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains' Ministry. Jim will be remembered at our next twice-monthly Mass at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls (1140 W. Jackson Blvd) on Sunday, 10 JUL at 11:00 a.m. Family is certainly welcome. In the meantime, may you know the healing touch of Jesus Christ during this difficult time.

My condolences to the family. I have not seen Melvin, as we called him in high school, since graduation. I remember him as a very nice guy and considered him a friend. I'm sorry I lost touch with him. I had no idea he worked for the Chicago Police Department.

We have known Melvin for quite awhile and he was a wonderful person and I know that he will be missed by alot and my heart goes out to his family and his sister for I know that she deeply loved him and will miss him.

Losing a parent is not easy, it is one of the hardest things you will have to experience. Cherish the memories, they are the best things to hold on to! Share the memories with the boys, talk about the memories, and always remember he is in your heart always! He is now your angel and is watching over you all!

Our deepest condolences to all. Jimmy was not only our great friend, he was family. We have such a heavy heart right now. We are there for you always, we loved and will miss Jim dearly. As we toasted Jim, a rainbow appeared over the Atlantic. Take comfort in knowing, Jim is in a better place, he has not left us, he has moved to a new neighborhood, where one day we will all meet again. We will forever keep his memory alive - and live by Jimmy's Rules! I am sure Ma Byrne made some beautiful wings for Jim, and Dad Byrne has the cards in his hands waiting to play with his favorite card buddy. Take comfort that Jim is not alone and there are many who love him and he is no longer suffering, God has speared him the burden of suffer and pain. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Sgt. Watson in the 023rd District for several years. He was my mentor for many tasks during my stay in 023. He was a great guy!!! He will be missed. RIP.
