We are so blessed to have spent time with Papa Chief & Lizzy. They both treated us like family and we cherish our memories with them dearly. We will never forget the PARTIES at the Reynolds house, the Captains Quarters, Florida or his amazing seasoning. He spoiled us and we loved him very much! We will miss him. Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

We were so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great, generous guy and quite the character. He really loved all of his horses and got so much enjoyment from the racing industry.

Jim was an original. I am honored to have gotten the chance to know him. He was one of the most generous people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The number of stories about him puts him in a class with few others. I will always have fond memories of him. Please accept Sue's and my heartfelt condolences, as we will be unable to attend his funeral tomorrow.

Condolences to the Family of Jim Stavros. Jim and I had similiar political careers, he with Niles Township and I at the same time as Secretary of Oak Park Democratic Township. When he opened a restaurant in McHenry we shared those early days. He was a gentleman and it was great to know him. Sincerely

Uncle Jim, Pappa Chief, was a pretty great guy! He had nicknames for everybody and was larger than life. Jon and I were blessed to have Uncle Jim, Aunt Liz and all of the kids be special parts of our lives especially when we were first married. We really looked forward to those weekends with laughing and great food. My mother is now in a nursing home trying to regain her strenght so she can go back home. She also sends her love and hugs to Jimmy, Helen, Tracy, Kelly and PJ and all of their loved ones. My brother Tom and I will be there. Bob is not able to attend since he is rotating weekends from CA to CO to visit our mother and support her recovery. Uncle Jim always had nicknames for everybody, mine was Sandra Motors...always racing her motor. Bob was Bumblebee and Tom was Fibber McGhee. All of us, our alter egos and our familes will miss you terribly.

Uncle Jim added dimension to the stavros clan, and he will be missed. He taught me Greek traditions I will always treasure and pass on. He was full of stories and took great care of Gus's granchildren after Gus passed. He and aunt Liz will always be a treasure to me. My thoughts and prayers are with PJ, Jimmy, Helen, Kelly, and Tracy and your families. Thanks for sharing your family with us!

Uncle Jim will be greatly missed. He was one of the most kind men I knew. I will have fond memories of all his politcal stories, family lamb roasts, and all the wonderful meals he cooked me over the years. My one favorite memory is when I was going to put on a lamb roast in San Francisco but really didnt know what I was doing. I called up Uncle Jim and he gave me all the recipies and seasoning mixes and walked me through how to make everything. He even fedex'ed me seasoning that he made. I still to this day have a picture of him working a lamb roast in 1968 on my refridgerator. God Bless
