James Quilty Obituary

I recently heard of Jim's passing. Sending love and condolences to the family and friends. Jim was the principal at Butterfield School while my 4 children attended, always a smile and a nice story or 2 the share about the Connelly kids. RIP dear JIM and enjoy your time in eternal happiness. Mary Ellen Connelly

I am so saddened at JQ's passing! He will forever be remembered and made such a strong impact on my early years teaching in Northlake! May his memory be a blessing!

Mr. Quilty was my gradeschool principal and made an impression on me as a student and still does today. I remember him coming to our class and taking the time to teach us a trick on how to add and subtract the number nine without fail. I continued to use that method throughout my educational path that led me to become a teacher myself. Now, I take pride in teaching my 4th grade students that trick and I fondly think of Mr. Quilty when I do.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I will never forget Mr. Quilty and his awesomeness when I was at Riley Elementary and Northlake Middle School. He listened to us, helped us, and encouraged us to be better people. I am all the better for having known him.
