James Nold Obituary

Jim,
You were a wonderful older brother and a true leader. A great friend through the years, especially during our childhood growing up in Glencoe. Nice memories of playing hockey, baseball and even soccer. The monthly boy scout camp outs, during our teen-age years, were a blast. Over our adult years we lived west coast - east coast but were still very close by making weekly telephone calls. Words cannot express how much you will be missed by me and many others.

Jim had a special sparkle that he brought to all who knew him. May his light and energy continue to shine brightly forever through his beloved, Krista, and all the family and friends who loved him.

Jim was an exceptional person..ever since i met him in high school, he always had a big heart that was reflected in his huge smile and twinkling eyes.. my deepest condolences go out to krista and his family.. heaven just recieved an exceptional angel.

We were honored to know and spend time with Jim, for the past 12 years. He always made us laugh and smile, and we always treasured the company of Krista and Jim. We will miss the double dates that should have been more frequent. Love from Joelle and Kevin

I only met Jim once - at the New Trier reunion last October. Krista was in my advisory. We talked that evening and then had a lovely, hilarious chat at breakfast (we all happened to be at the same hotel). To meet someone once and to clearly see them for the loving, kind, smart and funny person that he obviously was is simply awesome. You just know he touched people positively his whole life. I feel so lucky to have met him briefly. My heart aches for all of you.

Krista and the Nold family, I can't express in words how sorry we are to hear that we've lost Jim. He always made me laugh because he had the biggest heart and the greatest smile. Every memory I have of you is special. We had a lot of fun and got to be young and playful together with all the fears of adulthood out of our minds. I was blessed with knowing Jim for the last 10 years. He was one of the smartest and funniest people that I know. There was no trivia question he couldn't answer, no technical problem he couldn't solve and no moment in his company that didn't contain humor. He could find a funny observation about anything, but always with kindness- a rare and special quality. Jim- I loved you my friend and always will. Krista- I have never seen two people more in love and grateful for the times I shared in your real life Cindarella story. My deepest condolences.

Jim and I sat next to each other for Junior English. I think I was more interested in his Junior Theme on Updike's Rabbit Run than I was on my own attempt at Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Such was his enthusiasm and intelligence, and it was a joy to watch his process, his approach to work.

Jim had love, humor and compassion in his life, it was a full life that was taken way to soon. Sending love to you and the family. He truly had full heart of all the things life offered, the universe gained a beautiful soul- he will be missed by me and the many people who knew him throughout his life.
