Jim, you hardly knew us, but nobody else knew that. What a "Presence" you had, and the ability make everyone feel like they were your guest. Thanks sooooo much for ALL the fun over these many years. You will be missed grreatly.

My sympathy to the Murphy family. Jim & I entered the Chicago Police Academy on the same day in Sept. 1970 and with his sense of humor became instant friends. While I recently retired as a Sgt. for 30 yrs. I know after visiting "The Bleechers" several years ago, he made the right choice as he truely loved being part of the neighborhood and community for all these years.....raise a mug for me..
God Bless Jim...you'll be missed.

I just found out about the passing of my old boss and friend, Jim Murphy. I am saddened and pass my condolences on to Beth and her family. He was truly a great and generous man. I worked for him back in 1987. I've moved on and ever since, when I would come back and visit, we would catch up and he would be so generous to me and my wife. He will be greatly missed in the city of Chicago!
