Hughes, James J. "Farty" age 65, beloved husband of Betty (nee Burns), loving father of Judith (George) Mangan, Charlene (Leonard) North, Darlene (John) Cooke, Jacqueline (Lee) Martin and the late Kathleen Mitchell, dearest grandfather of James Mitchell, Lee, Elizabeth and Michael Martin, George and Stephanie Mangan, Patrick, Lenny, Josh, Zachary, Jeremy Mitchell North, John and Frank Cooke and the late Steven Mangan, dear brother of Catherine (Bernard) Keating, and the late William (Mary) Hughes, devoted son of the late James and Catherine (nee McInerney) Hughes, cherished brother-in-law of Lucy (the late Charles) McNulty, Michael (the late Judith) Burns and the late Wilma Simon, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, and a special friend to James "Moon" McMullin. Retired member of Local #74L and the Carpenters Union. Jim was one of the best softball players in Canaryville and a standout football player at Tilden Tech H.S. Funeral Tuesday, 9:15 a.m. from Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home, 4635 S. Wallace, to St. Gabriel Church, Mass 10 a.m. Visitation Monday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Please omit flowers.
