Dear Mary and Family,

Please accept my sympathy for Jim's passing. He was a dear friend of my late husbands (Robert Glickley) the two used to play ball on the West Side. If it's any consolation, i'm sure Bob was there to greet Jim.

Julie, Marikay & Family,

I know it has been many, many years since we have spoken. We recently had a Barry reunion so you were in my thoughts. Then I saw the obit in the paper & sadly I know your sorrow, both my parents are gone. You have a large family to help you through this difficult time. May the memories you share bring you peace & strength.

My deepest sympathy to the Hegarty and Meister families on the loss of your husband and dad. I have fond memories of him laughing and so obviously, engaged in his family life, particularly when we all met for a Christmas meal celebration at the Cave. He was truly a man in love with his family. I'm so very sorry for your loss and will pray for him and the entire family. My thoughts are with you in particular, Julie, Marty, Rose and Bob. God Bless the Irish.

Dear Patrick, Mrs Mester, Mr Mester, Kevin and Marykay,

I was so sorry to hear about your grandfather/father. I know what it is like to lose a grandparent and I will pray for you that as time goes on, you will remember the good times to make each and every day a little brighter.

I am sorry Patrick that I will not be able to make the wake tonight but I have to work with my father at a wedding. Know that my prayers are with you and all of your family and this time. Keep in touch.

Dear Mary and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was such a great guy and could always bring a smile to your face.

Just a short Jimmy Hegarty story I have to share with you:

I will never forget my first time ever at Notre Dame (with the band), I was in the bookstore buying everything I could get my hands on and I was looking at two sweatshirts, trying to decide which one to get, Jim happened to walk by, so I asked which do you like better? And with that impish grin of his he said "that's a tough one, I like them both", so I did the only logical thing I could, I bought them both, he really helped on that one!

Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

My prayers are with you, God Bless you and Jim.

Our sincere condolences to the Hegarty family. Jim was a loving husband to Mary and a proud father of his children and grandchildren.

I was fortunate to have been his friend for more than 70 years. I looked forward to seeing him at our Westsider's lunches. When I turned on my computer, I was happy if there was an Email from Jim. He would share a good joke, discuss politics or cheer on the White Sox.

Rest In Peace, Dear Friend.

Dear Marikay and Family,

I was shocked to hear of the passing of your beloved father. We spoke just a few days ago of your dads illness and fight to recover. Having recently suffered the loss of my mom, I feel your sorrow, and wish to convey that this is all part of life's cycle, and the lords master plan. When I feel alone or sorrw, I close my eyes and reflect back on my childhood and the many many fond, funny and learning events with mom and dad and my sorrow turns to joy. The joy of having been part of their lives and the joyof knowing the memories left behind and the joy in the knowledge that we will be together again. I thank mom every day for these precious memories.

You are in our hearts and minds and prayers through the comming days. Sincerely

I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF JIM'S PASSING. HE WAS TRULY "ONE OF OUR OWN."

HE WILL BE MISSED, ALWAYS.

AS I AM WRITING THIS, I HAVE TEARS IN MY EYES AND A DEEP PAIN IN MY HEART BUT I KNOW IN THE FUTURE, WHEN I THINK OF JIM, I WILL HAVE A SMILE ON MY FACE AND A GOOD FEELING INSIDE BECAUSE I WILL BE THINKING ABOUT ALL THE GOOD TIMES AND THE LAUGHS WE HAD TOGETHER.

JIM HAD THE ABILITY TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH AND FOR THAT HE WILL BE MISSED BY EVERYONE THAT HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HIM.

Dear Ellen and Family,

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was a great Irishman! I still wear the claddagh ring he got for me about 25 years ago! He somehow got a bargain on it with his many connections. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Fondly,

Regina and Oaf

WE think of Jim with fondness, and of his tender loving care of his wife Mary. His happy, outgoing personality brought great joy and fun to the "Sea Cabins" family. We will sadly miss Jim and Mary in Florida.
