James Harrison Obituary

BRUNSON, S.C. - Mrs. James Kenneth Harrison, Sr., husband of Mary Dee Harrison, died Saturday morning after an extended illness. He was 74. Mr. Harrison was born January 28, 1932, the son of the late Walter Pinckney Harrison and Kate Bowers Harrison. He was retired from Walsh Heating and Air, Past Mayor of Town of Brunson for three terms and Brunson Civic Council and a member of Brunson United Methodist Church where he served in many leadership capacities and Brunson Lions Club. Surviving beside his wife, are one son, James K. "Kerry" Harrison, Jr. (Andrea); one daughter, Beth H. Hazel (Edward), both of Brunson; two sisters, Willie Kate Ward of Raleigh, N.C. and Sarah H. Corbin of Brunson; four grandchildren, E.C. Hazel, Michael Hazel, Abby Harrison, Parker Harrison. He was know to them as Pops. He was predeceased by four brothers, W.P. Harrison, Jr., Gary Harrison, Sr., Elliott F. Harrison and Woodrow Harrison and five sisters, Bridie H. Youmans, Lily H. Breland, Hattie Mae H. Way, Iva Lee H. Collier and Rosa Lee H. Query. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Brunson United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Walter P. West and Rev. Garland Smith with burial following at Brunson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brunson United Methodist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bruson Lions Club. Memorials may be made to Brunson United Methodist Church and Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 1123, Bamberg, S.C. 29003. Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home of 470 Water St., Allendale, S.C.
