James Greco Obituary

Greco D.D.S., Dr. James F. 81, of Forest Park, WWII Vet. and retired Captain from the U.S. Army Air Force, beloved husband of Kathleen B. (nee Humphrey), devoted father of Dr. James L. (Zoe) and Nancy Greco, dear brother of Leda (Theodore) Hofmann, the late Ernest (the late Edith) and the late Michael (Jean) Greco, fond grandfather of Suzanne Pfouts, uncle of two nieces and two nephews. Dr. Greco practiced Dentistry in Chicago for over 40 years and was active in Local Politics. Dr. Greco did his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and received his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois where he served as Dean of External Affairs. He also served as President of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans, an Organization in which he participated for many years. He served as President of the Italian-American War Veterans for two terms, and was a pioneer of the Water Fluoridation Studies at The University of Chicago. Funeral Monday, 9 a.m., from Zimmerman-Ehringer Funeral Home, 7319 W. Madison St. (2 blks. West of Harlem), Forest Park, to Ascension Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
