Dear Sharon, Lisa, Leanne, and Kelly.
As the months have gone by, I think about my old buddy Jay more and more. I miss talking with him. He always had good advice for me to put things in their right perspective. He never failed to make me laugh with his jokes and observations. We always had fun together. May God keep you in His Holy,Healing Hands during this difficult journey. Warmest Regards, Mr. Bill

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. & Mrs. Garnett. I worked at Garnett's from High school until a few months after I graduated College. My experience on the floor, in the office and at customer service gave me a breadth of knowledge that jump started my career. I learned all the basics of running a business, office equipment and customer service. I still tell people I learned all my basics from Garnett's. Not many people actually know of Garnett's anymore, but I do and will always carry many wonderful memories of your family and the opportunities they gave me. People always comment on how nicely I wrap packages. I say, I was a gift wrapper after I graduated college. Your family was always so kind to me. My deepest sympathies go out to all of you.

MY Dear Cousins and All, sorry to hear of Jamie's passing. My memories are so many, but the favorite ones always involved fishing, down on the Osage Fork East of Lebanon, and even on the Chicago river with Jamie, Rowland, Uncle Dick and all. Peace be to you all. Tim McCulloch and Family

I recall as a child the high excitement and anticipation of a visit from Jamie and Sharon. Preperations were made, time set aside for these special occassions from family missed dearly. Know they meant so much to my mother, Juanita, and the rest of of as well. I know in my heart she is visiting with him now, and in good company. I pray for the strength you will need to call upon during these and the days/ months years ahead.
Respectfully, Judy McCulloch Eady

Dear Garnett Family, All of my "Chicago Cousins" have always been very dear to me, and I am so sorry Jamie suffered through such a cruel illness. I know he is at peace now. When we were youngsters he always teased me about my Ozark accent and would try to get me to say words like "oil" and "you all", which came out sounding like "all" and "ya'll." Then he would just laugh, laugh, laugh. I will always remember him, and all of you in my prayers.

From the time we were little guys, Jamie was a special cousin. He always shared his bikes, fishing, fireworks and all the stuff little kids loved. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Dear Family, I've known Jay for more than 25 years. I'm from a family of carpenters so my father remembers working with Jay's father. My father passed away from the same illness. I feel Jay and my father John are shareing old carpenter stories in heaven. My prayers go out to the Garnett family. Jay is a great man and will be missed.

Dear Sharon & Family;
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of Jay. He was a good friend, a good union carpenter, a good guy to play cards with and socialize, and he will be missed by all of us who knew him. I remember the old days when I would meet hime riding the train to work in downtown Chicago, and then shortly after we both became union officers. We had many good conversations about what we thought needed to be done to better the union and help the membership. Remember the good times, as Jay will always be there in spirit.

I am truly sad that such a wonderful man that impacted all of your lives richly is gone. There are no words written or said that can provide true comfort in this huge loss. All we own are our memories when all is said and done. He was awesome and made me laugh. When I think about those times I find myself smiling. This to me is part of his greatest legacy. May God bless you all in your time of sadness. My sincerest condolences.

God has a plan for our friend, Jay to grab a golf club on the greens in heaven so that he can hit golf balls with Jiggs Donahue, Tony Munari, Kenny Daniels, and Dale Muthart.

Hopefully, he will get that hole in one!

Jay will always be in our hearts forever!
