I am SO VERY sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was one of the nicest men I have ever met.
One of the rare men that touches your heart that you feel as though you are part of his family.
Next to my dad he was the hardest working & sweetest man I knew. We shared his interest in real estate especiallly Palos Park, heart problems and life's ups and downs.
He always said not to burn bridges and since John bought my parent's house I assumed a long friendship.
How quickly our lives change. I will have a hole in my heart from his loss.
I was so looking forward to a New year's lunch and see his smiling face.
My sympathies to your family.
I will miss him terribly, he was so kind. God bless you, Jim.
Fondly,
Molly Quaid

Dear Jill and family,

I miss you deeply. Your love and kindness meant the world to me and I was so proud to be your future daughter-in-law. Dear Cousins,
My heart has broken along with all of yours. I loved your father very much. In my sorrow and sadness, I find comfort in knowing how very fortunate I am to have had him as my only uncle. I hope your Dad knew that he always held a special place in my heart. I cannot remember exactly when I decided to remove the “Jim” from “Uncle Jim” and simply refer to him as “Uncle”, but I think he grew to like it. When he would respond by calling me “Niece”, it would always put a smile on my face.
He had a compassionate heart and showed such enormous generosity to my family. When we needed jobs, he welcomed us to Finer with opens arms. When Tom and I needed to save money for our wedding and a house, he so generously gave us an apartment. But above all, I am most grateful for the brother he was to my Dad. I hope someday I can have as great of an impact on my nieces and nephews as he did on me. I will miss him so very much.
With an aching heart and much love for all of you,
Cousin Amy

He was a kind and very warm hearted person! From what I saw of him,he loved his children and his grandchildren very much. GOD Needed another Angel and choose Jim Fitzgerald for the job because only he could fill the position.May God Bless all of you. If you need anything and I can help...I am here.

I only knew Jim for a short time, but I will miss all the stories he told me about the good old days and his association with Vince. The stories about his children growing up and grandchildren were also wonderful to hear.
Visiting the warehouse will not be the same because I know I won't be greeted by Jim's smile, hug and kiss on the check.
I am thankful to say I met Jim Fitzgerald and his wonderful wife Jill and their children.

I knew that his heart had been aching for a long time and I thought that I'd invite him over for a cup of coffee. I guess the good Lord had other plans for him!
