Falvy Barr, Jr., James "Jim"

James "Jim" Falvy Barr, Jr. passed on November 02, 2023, in his home in Chicago, IL. Jim was born to James Falvy Barr, Sr. and Jane Belcher Barr on October 11th, 1946, in Billings, Montana. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma he had a vibrant career as an accountant. Jim had a keen interest in genealogy, and was active in numerous heritage societies, including the Society of Colonial Wars , Order of Founders and Patriots of America, Illinois Huguenot Society, Wisconsin Huguenot Society, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Revolution, Society of the Military Order of the Stars and Bars, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Society of the War of 1812, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, New York Society of the Cincinnati, and the Holland Society of New York. He was predeceased by his parents James F. Barr, Sr., and Jane Barr. He is survived by his brother, the Rev. William W. Barr, sister-in-law Christine Barr, and nephews Jackson and William Henry Barr of Houston, TX, and many more family and friends. Funeral Service Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 1133 N. LaSalle St., Chicago. Info 773-472-6300.
