Barrera, James S. age 57, of South Chicago and Cicero, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Beloved husband of Amparo Barrera (nee Gil), loving father of John (Irene) Barrera, Diana (Jose) Madrigal, Vanessa Barrera and Daisy Barrera, devoted son of the late Sergio and the late Esperanza Barrera, proud brother of Sergio (Cynthia) Barrera, the late Linda (Godofredo) Chavez, the late Rudy (Yolanda) Barrera, Peter (Esther) Barrera, the late Mario (Clare) Barrera, Yolanda (Robert) Galvan, Armando (Denise) Barrera, and Tony (Angie) Barrera, loving grandfather of Jennifer Barrera, Elizabeth and Jasmine Madrigal, John Barrera Jr., and Alex James Barrera, many nephews and nieces. Longtime employee of the Cook County Bureau of Health. Committeeman of the 10th Ward and State Representative Candidate. Funeral service 8:30 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2007, at Griesel Jimenez Stodden Funeral Home, 10240 S. Ewing Ave., to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 8 p.m. 773-768-0632.
