Very sorry to hear of the passing of "Ernie", too late to make the wake. Always a great guy, and good memories remain from the Bubble and from "Rockin' Seeley West" of a tremendous athlete and a great sense of humor, and later a brave fireman. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole Banks Family at this sad time. It saddens me to know that we have lost a wonderful brother, teacher and friend. The stories and memories of our dear friend will live on for years and years. The tears we shed now will be replaced with smiles and laughter soon as we remember all the crazy things we did and shared over the years. God Bless us ALL.

I'm saddened to hear about 'Ernie', Jimmy Banks. My condolences go out to family and his many friends. We have lost a naturally gifted athlete and a good friend.
I will miss laughing with him when I visit Chicago, and will always remember him racing around the bases or the infield, making outstanding plays.
My best to Tom---bye for now, burr
