Jake Petersen Obituary

Jake Craig Petersen
August 1, 1979 - Nov 23, 2013
Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and uncle. Son of the late Craig A. Petersen (Riverton) and Nancy Petersen Rees, and Gaylen K. Rees (Grover), Utah. Jake married his sweet, kind, and loving wife, Kimberly, on a special date, 11/11/11. We have never seen him happier, she was the love of his life and he loved her dearly.
Jake was proud of his upbringing on the family farm in Riverton and of his close extended family. He cherished family heirlooms and pictures of the good old days. He was fond of his cowboy hat, boots, and wrangler jeans. He loved to listen to and sing music and had a beautiful voice.
Jake was always a quiet observer of people. He didn't need to be the center of attention; he was content to be himself and took joy in studying and learning about other people and sharing life's quirky moments.
Jake had an unconditionally accepting, tender heart, which he wore on his sleeve everyday. He didn't waste time worrying about tomorrow but lived in the moment, cherishing the joy and sharing in the sorrow. He relished in finding out the details about people. These attributes served him well in his customer service career where his naturally sincere interest in others made him successful. Jake served a mission for the LDS Church and had a strong heart-felt testimony of the Savior. He loved his eternal family and longed to reunite with his dad and brother. We believe he is enjoying a joyful family reunion and is finding out all the details of the next life as he continues his eternal journey.
Survived by his wife Kimberly Bradfield Petersen, son Mitchell Craig Petersen (8), mother Nancy Petersen Rees (Gaylen), brothers, Luke Petersen (Hilarie), Chase Petersen (Missy), sister Marci Kay Childs (Brandon) and grandfather Jacob P. Burton Jr. Preceded in death by his father Craig Alan Petersen, brother Quinn Clifton Petersen and grandparents Roy and Vera Petersen, and Myrl Burton.

Thank you for being YOU! I'm grateful I had the opportunity to work with and learn so much from you. I was sad to hear you left Xerox, smiled again when you requested my friendship on Facebook and now heartbroken to hear of your passing.

Jake's family and friends. My wife and I were shock to hear of Jake's passing. We remember him as a young missionary in our Ward and he was assigned to our Ward just out of the MTC. Sweet, loving and innocent spirit he was. We treated him and his companions like our own sons. Our deepest condolences to his wife and family. To Jake, until we meet again. Bishop and Sister Lee
