Our beloved mother was born in Junction City, MO on July 21, 1932 to LaVerna M. Her love for others and nurturing nature inspired her to attend The Marymount School of Nursing graduating in 1953. She met her life long partner Molhar Curtis and they married on February 24,1954 and remained together for 46 years. After receiving her degree as Registered Nurse she moved to Chicago and worked for the next 40 plus years at numerous hospitals: Lorretto Hospital, St. Luke's Presbyterian, CNI RN in the ER at Cook County Hospitals for about 30 years before retiring in June, 1987. With a new outlook on life she came out of retirement in 2010 to work at Easter Seals as an office assistant, where she enjoyed learning new technologies and making new friends. Jacqueline is survived by two daughters and one son: Lonetta and Patricia Curtis, Curtis Hall, two granddaughters Laurie Curtis, Danielle Curtis, one greatgrand-daughter: Dominique Curtis and one greatgreatgrand-daughter: Zara Jenkins. Jacqueline was predeceased by husband: Molhar Curtis, May16, 2000. In closing, our mother's reflection on life would be " Live by life's blessing every single day!"

Grandma Jackie, you will surely be missed. Thank you for being an awesome Granny to my BFF Danielle. It’s because of you, I was able to learn how to navigate the trains/buses going downtown. You were insistent Danielle learned how to ride CTA. In turn, she taught me how to do so also. I am forever thankful for the lessons you’ve taught all of us indirectly. May you rest with our Savior until we meet again!
