Abbs, Jacqueline J.

Jacqueline J. Abbs, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Jacqueline was born on January 22, 1934 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Orien and Marion (nee Dibbert) Stevens. She proudly served her community as a Registered Nurse for Veterans for over 35 years. Jacqueline is survived by her devoted children, Susan (Steven) Bejlovec, Stephen (Mary) Abbs, Barbara (Bob) Lumpkins, Catherine (Christopher) Evans, and Regina (Kevin) Gahr; sisters, Sally (Robert) Powell and Cheryl Covert; brother, Alan (Jane) Stevens; and 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her loving husband, Bertram G. Abbs; her parents; one sister, Jerry Stevens; one brother, Richard Stevens; and her daughter, Lisa (David) Kummerow. A Memorial Mass for Jacqueline J. Abbs will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2500 Arbeiter Rd., Joliet, IL. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be held privately by the family at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 would be appreciated.
