I went to high school with Jay and later professionally worked with him a bit. A good natured, savvy guy who quietly achieved in everything he put his mind to. My sincere condolences to his family

My name is Jeanne Graden and I had the pleasure of working with Jay at Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser, American Express Tax and Business Services and finally at RSM McGladrey. Jay was an incredible man who never failed to acknowledge everyone around him. I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us and offer my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and coworkers.

Mr Brandzel was the ultimate fan. Always cheering on his grandchildren from the stands and sidelines. We will miss his spirited support.

My name is Rose Mary Pfeifer, I had the honor and pleasure of working at L&H with Jay. We stayed in contact after Its demise and very often spoke of our admiration for our firm. He was a helpful and kind man. Jay had integrity and he was a gentlemen, a mench to the highest degree. He appreciated a good worker and he admired loyalty. He was Ken Solomon's right hand. And the 2 of these men were giants in the accounting/law world. I know Jay is at peace now. To the Brandzel family, you were very lucky to have him as a husband, father, and well respected businessman of the City of Chicago. Kudos to Jay for a life well spent! Peace with the Brandzels.

Jay was a good friend and colleague, whom I greatly admired. Patient, kind and slow to anger, always gracious, a true gentleman. Our deepest sympathy to Janice and the family.

Mr. Brandzel was an amazing man...quiet, caring, smart, "go-with-the-flow", active, and a fabulous spouse, father and grandfather. He had many of the same characteristics as my own father, which is why I admired him so much! He will be missed greatly!!!

I will always remember Jay as the voice of reason, sitting in a meeting with that wry look, taking it all in whils saying little, but making it count whenever he spoke. It has been a pleasure working with him for all of these years, and he will be missed.
