Jack Vanhoose Obituary

Jack Vanhoose 79 of Huntington, WV our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away in the Teays Valley Center after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease on July 29, 2004. He has gone to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior and will be ill no more.

Jack was born February 6, 1925 as the eldest son to Scott C. and Viola Pratt Vanhoose.

Jack leaves behind his wife of 60 years Eleanor M. Vanhoose of Huntington; son Darryl Scott Vanhoose and his wife Dreama of Culloden, WV; daughter Sheila Lynn Clark of Huntington; sister Geri Crum of Huntington; brother James L. Vanhoose of Huntington; grandsons Christopher Clark of Huntington, Jason Vanhoose and his wife Lisa of Scott Depot, WV, Matthew Vanhoose of Culloden and four beautiful great grandchildren Jessica Kathleen Clark of Huntington, Lauren Elizabeth Vanhoose, Joshua Scott Vanhoose, and Evan Morgan all of Scott Depot, WV. Jack served in the United States Army during WWII with the 1304th Engineers Construction Battalion. He retired from the Columbia Gas Company with 37 years of service, member of the Highlawn Baptist Church, where he served as a teacher of the Brothers Sunday School and was a Deacon for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday July 31 11:00am at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Rev. Terrell Bradley officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park with military graveside rites. Friends may call Friday 6-8pm at the mortuary. Condolences may be set to the family at www.beardfuneralhome.com.
