Jack Scheibling Obituary

Rock Tavern, NY

Jack Scheibling, 80, of Rock Tavern, NY, formerly a longtime New City resident, passed away on February 17, 2009.

He was born on December 28, 1928 in New York City to Jacob and Elsie Neumann Scheibling.

Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. He married his loving wife, Alice, on May 10, 1952 in Bay Shore, Long Island; she predeceased him on January 18, 2000.

Jack worked as an electrical engineer for Material Research Corp. for approximately 15 years. He also worked on the guidance system for the Apollo Space craft and he was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Jack is survived by his loving children: Robert (Colleen) Scheibling of Long Valley, NJ, Richard (Andrea) Scheibling of Rock Tavern, NY, Douglas (Barb) Scheibling of Wallkill, NY, Ed (Dinah) Scheibling of Montgomery, NY and Laura (John) Garvey of New City, NY. Also surviving are Jack's adored grandchildren: Erin, Cara, Jenna, Joseph, Nicholas, Dana, Danielle, Dusty, Kylie, Corey and Kevin.

Religious services will be at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Saturday, February 21, at 10 a.m. with Interment to follow at the Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery. The family will received friends on Friday, February 20, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
