Jack Reid Obituary

Reid, Jack J. 72, Army Sgt., Korean War Vet, died peacefully at home December 13th after a lengthy illness, beloved husband and life partner of Juliet Reid, cherished father of seven children, proud grandfather of 15, great- grandfather of ten. Jack was the first African- American clothing cutter inducted into the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and also the organizer of the first union of Black Switchman on the Belt Railroad over which he lost his job. If anybody could ever say a man fought a good fight, our Jack did. He will be missed by many. Memorial services pending.
