Kern, Jack H. Navy Veteran WWII, beloved husband of the late June A. (nee Fendrick), loving father of Susan (James) Llorens and Laura Martin, adored grandfather of Lisa (Gene) Grochowski, Jesse Martinez and Christine Vitacco, dearest great-grandfather of Jesse Jr., Alex, Emma, Jack and Adela, kind uncle of Howard (Lisa) Kern, Paul (Ardis) Kern and Debbie (Gene) McIntyre. Visitation Sunday, from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Monday, 9 a.m., at The Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st St., Orland Park. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. We last spoke to Jack on his 79th birthday, November 15th. He was so happy to receive our phone call. We enjoyed several vacations with Jack & June. We especially remember meeting them in Calgary for the Stampede Days and Lake Louise. He will be missed by all!

We have just lost a great friend. He will be missed. We will no longer hear our doorbell ring many times as Jack announces his arrival for coffee. To lose both Jack and June within about a 3 month timeframe will always leave us with a sad memory, but we will also always remember the great times we had together.
