I guess this is it. The final entry in the guest book of a man I will always keep in my heart. I'm sure you can see this now, Jack. You were a great man who touched my heart forever. And in a family way, I will love you forever.I will always miss you here on earth. Love, me

I only knew him 11 years. Although that might seem like a short time to some people, it was a lifetime of memories for me. I would see him very often, and he always made me feel at home. This page will expire in three days, and so will all its loving entries. I would like to thank everybody who wrote in this for giving me support in this very hard time. You have done so much.

I have memories in my pocket. They rattle among the change. .... They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole.... Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there...
And one of those memories are of wonderful families I was honored to know when I worked with Home Builders of Greater Chicago years ago. One of the families being that of Jack Hoffman's.
I was so sadden when I learned of your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I just learned of Jack's passing. My grandmother, Bessie Shields, was a nanny for the Hoffman children many years ago in Phoenix & Chicago. Jack & his wonderful wife, Selma, were always special & treated my grandmother so graciously and so lovingly. I know Jack will be missed by not only his family, but by anyone who came into contact with him. What a wonderful person he was. He treated everyone with kindness and respect, and had an amazingly charming smile. I know he's left behind a great legacy of love.

Dear Hoffman Family,
Your husband, father, grandfather, was a true gentleman! His work helped many families enjoy homes and communities that provided the settings that are fondly being recalled as the "good old days" now.
He left a legacy of great value; not just in the buildings, but in the feelings of the people with whom he worked and touched.
Carry on as he did.

I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to you. Something that has provided me with much comfort during these difficult times is the hope that the bible holds out. I have gained much comfort from the scripture in Isaiah 25:8 where it speaks of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah swallowing up death forever. That will surely be a wonderful time when we will no longer experience the pain of losing our loved one in death.

Dear Ed,
I don't know if you remember me, from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana days, but I did want to send my condolenses to you.
I remember you once giving a group of friends from those UI days and myself, a tour of some of the model homes. We were all pretty wild in those days and I'm sure you gave your father pause to wonder if you would follow him in the business. But on the tour, he would have been very proud.

My daughter from Illinois called me and told me about Jack Hoffman's passing. I worked for F&S Construction in the beginning at the Sales Office. They hired me after I lost a child and felt working would be good for me. It was and they were very good to me also. I am so sorry about your loss
