J.D. Lynch Obituary

J.D. Lynch, 80, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at his residence. He was a Deacon at New Salem Baptist Church and was a veteran of WW II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He had a special love of children, and will be warmly remembered by many as the “Gum Man”.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Cutshall Funeral Home – Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM on Monday, November 22, 2004 at New Salem Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Danny Bell. Interment will follow in New Salem Church Cemetery in Iuka, MS. Pallbearers include Gary “Doc” Austin, Rufus Austin, Jerry Locke, Norman Locke, Robert Locke, and Danny Lynch. Honorary Pallbearers include the Deacons of New Salem Baptist Church.

Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include His wife of 57 years, Marie Lynch of Iuka, MS; 2 Sons – William Douglas Lynch and wife, Susie, of Jackson, TN, and Calvin Ray Lynch and wife, Judy, of New Orleans, LA; 2 Sisters-in-Law – Jewel Marlar Lynch and Lorine Lynch; and 4 Grandchildren – Jennifer Wood and husband, Brian, Denise Lynch, Shane Lynch and wife, Lindsey, and Kristina Lynch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Salem Baptist Church Fund or the American Heart Association
