My love for you will never falter, it never did, not even through the roughest moments. Everyday you're on my mind, and I'm haunted by your memories. I hear a siren, "whooop, whooop" and I fool myself into thinking that it's you. I want to turn around, and see you strutting down the street. I want to turn around and see you smiling, cruising in your car, making fun of me. You alone have taught me how to stand on my own two feet. And it was you alone who made me who I am today. God I miss you, but I know you're here with me. I still remember holding your hand, I told you no one would ever keep me away. I wasn't afraid. I told you I'd be the last one there. I know life goes on, at least, that's what they say. But I need you to promise, you'll be with me every step of the way.

Mike Brown
April 11, 2008
Dear Anna & Family,
This is Mike Brown. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for the loss of Ivano. Ivano was one of the finest men I have ever known. It was impossible to know him and not love him simultaneously. It is about 4am and I can’t sleep thinking of Ivano - so I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain that you and the family are in. Ivano was very special and different. Booker T. Washington once said, “a man’s success should not be measured by his position in life but rather by the obstacles he’s overcome.” Ivano overcame English as a second language, financial and educational barriers among many other obstacles. Ivano loved and respected you and his family like nobody I’ve ever met. When you two were dating he would call me at strange hours to ask me to deliver flowers to you from him – he truly loved you. When you were pregnant with Roseanna he said to me, “Mike, all I want is to be a good husband and father.” He did it. In my years of knowing Ivano there were 3 things that I knew he wanted: 1) to marry a good girl like his Mother, 2) to be a good father and 3) to become a cop. Ivano lived by the words of Julius Caesar, “Veni, Vedi, Vici” (I came, I saw, I conquered). Ivano had a heart of gold without an ounce of greed. In all the years I knew him, he only strove for his piece of the pie and you can be assured that when he got it - he would share 51% of his slice with others. When you guys had the deli and I had my Limo business, there were not too many days that he didn’t call me to ask me if I was hungry. One time, years back, I didn’t have a car; he would call me to see if I needed a lift. If you needed a dollar – he gave you 2. In life, your friends are the people who know you and still like you. Contrary to most, the more Ivano got to know you - the more he liked you. God is love and Ivano served that example. Although Ivano’s body and mind may be put to rest – his spirit lives on forever. I learned a lot from Ivano – he had the Wisdom of Solomon. I will always love Ivano. If I can ever do anything to help you and the kids, Savino, Ben, Gino, Carmelina, Mrs. Mazzulla, or anybody that Ivano cared for, please contact me at 630-479-7653 or at brownboyrealestate.com. As a person, I cannot say enough good things about Ivano. Many people have jobs but few are employed in the work of life. To work in anything that is not using ones unique life experiences to enhance the spiritual, physical and mental aspects of mankind is to be working, but unemployed in the work of life. Ivano was truly employed in the work of life. I guess life is like a clock but you never know what time it is. I had a dream about Ivano a week before he passed and I will always regret not reaching out more while there was time. Again, I’m sorry for the loss of Ivano – he will always be in my heart.

Dear Anna,
It seems that there is not a moment that goes by that Ivano isn't in my thoughts. I try to recall a time when I didn't see him with a big smile on his face and it just doesn't come to me. No matter how bad of a mood I was in he would always be able to make me happy again. His love was infectious and you couldn't help but to be in a good mood around him.
I remember a time when I was very young, around 9 or so, and I had drawn a picture for Ivano. A couple years later I remeber him bringing me into his room and opening a trunk at the end of his bed. He pulled out the picture I had drawn and showed me he had kept it. I had never had anyone do such a loving thing of that nature for me besides my parents. I will never forget it.
I can't help but be upset thinking about him being gone but on the other hand, it brings me joy to think about how blessed I was to have such a beautiful person as a cousin.
I will always keep you and my little cousins in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Tony

My Dearest Anna,
My family and I can not express enough how sorry we are for your loss. We have known you since you were a little girl in your fathers deli and we then had the pleasure to meet your handsome and funny husband Ivano and watch your children arrive one by one. When you and he took over the deli we had the best meals and the best times. When the deli closed we were so sad. Anna hopefully those good memories you have will help you ease the pain and loss that you are feeling. Just know Ivano will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love you kiddo and hang in there. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

To the family of Officer Mazzulla,
I didn't know officer Mazzulla but, I was at the wake of Maria Peri the same night that officer Mazzulla's wake was going on. I also saw the news and I thought to myself Oh My God. I have 4 young children of my own and I couldn't imagine buring any of them at such a young age. Nor could I imagine being the wife and having to tell our children that their father is in heaven. At the wake I was so tempted along with my husband to go up to you and your family and just give you a big hug and say how sorry we are. Your husband, father, son was obviously a very special man. The line to pay respects was out the door and in the waiting area. He served and protected many. So, I send you my deepest condolences and may God be with you, your children and family at this time of need.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Mazzulla Family,
Just wanted to thank Ivano's mother for raising such a man. Respectful, full of life and one of a kind. To Ivano's sister, thanks in behalf of him for always listening to him. To his two brothers, you where such a great example to him. I'm sure i don't have to say all this because you are aware of all the love he had for his family. To his kids, you are beautiful, and your daddy lives on through you. I was furtunate enough to get to know Ivano in many many ways. Always a smile, happiness, and good memories. He is a great lost. Even though i came late into his life, because he already has a wonderful family, and even though i might have been just a small part of his life, he meant the world to me. Thank you hun for all the wonderful times. I will always love you. To the Mazzulla family, my condolences..

Family of Ivano,
Our deepest sympathy.
One person can mean so much in life and there after. Remembering his as a son, a brother, a husband, a uncle, a father and a friend. Nevertheless, there are so many parts of your life he will always be FOREVER.
