Isabelle Haney Obituary

Isabelle M. Haney, 92, died peacefully of natural causes on June 8, 2013 in Auburn, Washington.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1920 in Coos Bay, Oregon to Warren and Bessie Eckles. She survived the depression as the family went thru hard times. She went thru the 6th grade and dropped out to care for her mother. When she turned 19 she left Oregon and went to San Diego.

On April 1, 1945 she married the love of her life Kenneth L. Haney known as "Haney". They were married at Glenn Abbey Memorial Park in the "Little Chapel of the Roses". After living in Chula Vista for 62 years Kenneth & Isabelle moved to Enumclaw, Washington with her Daughter and Son-in-Law.

As a child, Isabelle won the Oregon Penmanship Award, a certificate she posted proudly on the wall. She worked at North Island rebuilding spark plugs, her part of the war effort. Isabelle assisted "Haney" in his duties as a San Diego County Deputy Sheriff. She went on rides with him as a matron when he transported patients to Patton State Hospital in Los Angeles. There were many funny stories that followed those trips. Isabelle was a home maker raising her family for much of her life. She began painting as a hobby, joining the Art Guild in Chula Vista. She won several first place awards for her paintings.
