Irmgard, my mother's (Lilli Basch) first cousin, was the last of her generation. We saw her in August, 2008, and she was as gracious and knowledgeable as always.

We have fond memories of sharing musical archive material with Irmgard in her apartment. She was a very kind lady and a good friend to us.

I've known Irmgard for a number of years through the American Jewish Artists' Club, worked with her on Club business, and always enjoyed her company and indomitable spirit in spite of illness. A really remarkable and fine lady.
