Irmgard, my mother's (Lilli Basch) first cousin, was the last of her generation. We saw her in August, 2008, and she was as gracious and knowledgeable as always.

I've known Irmgard for a number of years through the American Jewish Artists' Club, worked with her on Club business, and always enjoyed her company and indomitable spirit in spite of illness. A really remarkable and fine lady.
